CIVO
ACTIVITY
Efficient management of non-hazardous organic and mineral waste.
CIVO
ACTIVITY
At CIVO, the process begins with the admission and weighing of non-hazardous organic and mineral waste for mixing and/or treatment. The accepted residues are characterized by having physical and chemical characteristics that give them the potential to be directly applied in agriculture, through direct agricultural valorization, or have the potential to be integrated into an aerobic digestion process (composting), in order to obtain an organic fertilizer.
In it, a wide range of organic waste can be received (see Permissible Waste ):
- Urban and industrial wastewater treatment plant sludge;
- Residues from the agri-food industry;
- Waste from food processing and preparation units;
- Organic materials unfit for consumption or processing (slaughter);
- Waste from pig farms, poultry houses, among others;
- Animal manure and manure (pigs, poultry, sheep);
- Waste from domestic and municipal activities, resulting from the maintenance of gardens and parks;
- Residues from forestry activities, biomass from forest clearances.
Depending on their origin, these residues may have a finer or coarser texture, as well as different levels of humidity and also have different chemical characteristics, which need to be known and evaluated.
The mixing process, for the constitution of the cells, obeys specific rules and care, since its rigor influences the entire process and, consequently, the characteristics of the final product.
After the end of the composting process, the compost is sieved and sent for maturation, being later weighed and shipped to final destination.
