Aware of the goals and strategies defined for the management of organic waste and the evolution of policies at European and national level, for solutions for reuse, recycling and other forms of recovery, Ambitrevo built, in 2010, the CIVO – Integrated Center for Organic Recovery, located in Coruche.

Over the years, this unit has evolved technologically, in terms of installed capacity for receiving and producing compost, undergoing expansion works, becoming one of the largest composting units in the country.

At CIVO, non-hazardous organic waste is received and can be stored, mixed and/or incorporated into the composting process. The waste stored here can then be shipped for direct agricultural recovery or be incorporated into the composting process.

Composting is a process of recovery/recycling of organic waste, which leads to the production of a natural compost, being used as fertilizer and/or organic corrective.
